Firefox 1.5 crash at Google too

I'm not the only one affected by Firefox 1.5 constant crashes. Googler Matt Cutts is also plagued with constant crashes. "Aaargh," he writes. "Talk Like a Pirate Day arrives early and several times a day."

I think I've found the culprit, however. I've been removing extensions one by one and running a day without. Google's Web Comments plugin might be the problem -- since disabling that, I've had no problems. We'll see.

  1. I've been running 1.5 since the day it came out on 4 machines with no crashes. It's the main tool I use for my job, I typically have a dozen tabs open. As you say, must be an extension. I run a few extensions, but they're all pretty mainstream; forecastfox, adblock, image zoom and gmail notfier.

  2. Mine too. Firefox 1.5.0.1 seems to me as though it's gone backwards. Please someone at Mozilla provide an update as it's so bad i have more stability with I.E.
Can't determine what is causing it, but i've no additional extentions since install and the last version was ok. Maybe i will go back to that.
