Indeed, no helmet. Outside the US especially, and the Anglosphere in general, people are more sane about the fact that cycling (apart from fools who feel they need not obey traffic rules) overall involves not much more (if as much) risk of head injury - serious or otherwise - than other daily activities like stair- or ladder-climbing or active sports.
