  1. ...no doubt, dottie...i'd only amend w/ "ugly & scary" as well...

    ...do we know how the cyclist fared ???...

    ...as reprehensible as running the red light is, i'm also bothered by the person walking from left to right...

    ...it's hard to believe they don't react whatsoever...did they not see or at least hear the impact ???...

  2. Probably the cyclist's fault. It always is, you know.

  3. I laughed out loud at the Chevy SUV ad just before the video of an SUV hitting a cyclist.

  4. More evidence on why so many politicians are against red light cameras? Hope the cyclist is OK and that Fred learns to drive responsibly... he is old enough. At his website under responsible leadership is "fostering a healthy environment".

  5. From other news reports, the cyclist was taken to the hospital but is okay (with unspecified injuries). It turns out Representative Clark knows the cyclist, also.

  6. I'm a cyclist, and a motorist too. I have accidentally run red lights in my car. I hope this never happens to me...from either perspective. Scary.

  7. Why do the news stories always give out the make and model of the car, but never the bike?

  8. @Dottie: Yeah.

    @BGW: I witnessed a car get hit by a train several years ago. There were probably 30 people in the immediate vicinity. Only me and one other guy ran to check on the driver -- everybody else in the area completely froze. Another time, I was in heavy traffic when I saw a tornado bearing right down on us. Several people just sat there stopped in their cars, like deer in headlights, while a few of us ran for our lives.

    @Stevil: They're already blaming the cyclist in the Toronto incident. The accused is an upstanding citizen who drives a nice car and feared for his life, after all, while the cyclist is one of those low life drunken messengers.

    @Tony: Contextual advertising at its best!

    @331: Indeed.

    @Frank: Another example of media bias! :-)

  10. Thanks Xander; I probably should've mentioned Michael Bryant in this article.
