The results indicate that risk compensation may modify the effectiveness of helmets for children engaged in sports and leisure activities. Conversely, the findings also suggest that those wearing helmets may be a cautious subgroup.

Speaking of kids and bikes, this past Friday night a Critical Mass bike ride went real bad - the bikers attack the car - with kids inside - and left some real damage to the vehicle, and the kids. Nice.
